Industrial coffee table

Inspired by the industrial coffee table from Little glass jar I made a table just like hers. I've made some adjustments to the height and size of the table to fit our living room other than that it's identical. Visit Little glass jar tutorial here.

The local hardware store cut the pieces up for me. I ended up only needing one 2x6 board for the planked top and two 2x2 for the frame for my measurements. The coffee table is 70cm wide and 104cm long.

Since the boards were nicely cut up in the right sizes all I had to do was to assemble them.

I used wood glue and 7cm long wood screws.
I used a darker color wood stain on the frame and a lighter wood stain on the planked top. The planked top was screwed on lying upside down so the screws wouldn't show.
I'm extremely pleased with the end result.

Console table

Inspired by the blog http://countrygirlhome.blogspot.se/2011/04/entry-table-2-black-distressed-tutorial.html?m=1 I built myself a console table behind my couch.

Here's what I did:
The wood store cut up the pieces according to my drawing.

I painted all the pieces before I nailed it all together.
All done! It's almost like a puzzle. Find the tutorial in the link above.

Party time

The party turned out perfect. Five super heroes joined the fun and my two sons were eager to get the party started.

We finished with perler beads using templates with Marvel Super heroes and goodie bags with Spiderman.

My husband did a crepe cake which was greatly appreciated and so were the sugar cookies as well.

Great day!

Spiderman theme party

My youngest son are turning 4 on Valentine's Day and he loves Spiderman.

Using cake mold and cookie cutters we made gummy candy and sugar cookies staying true to the theme.

We mixed in red coloring gel in the dough and they turned out fantastic. I found the cookie cutter on eBay.

The gummy candy was super easy to make. We used Jell-o and gelatine and 1/3 c of hot water and let it settle for 20 minutes or more in the fridge.

I can't wait to see the little super hero expressions when they get here!

Car table for the kids - upcycling

I had three side tables in three different sizes with a black table top and Aluminium legs.
I used paint tape to illustrate the roads and covered the remaining part in green for land and grass.
I finished off by painting the raw black "wood" with white marks and sealed it all with mod podge.

Maxi skirt

I made a maxi skirt using this tutorial http://elleapparel.blogspot.se/2011/09/maxi.html from Elle Apparel that I found on Pinterest.
I love the color and actually found a leisure shirt at the Levi store to go with it.

Photo wall

We've been cleaning and clearing clutter like crazy at our apartment getting ready for the realtor and his photo crew to shoot our apartment for the real estate ad.
I swapped all the family pictures on our photo wall for a bunch of great illustrations from VN Printable art on Etsy and a few others.
I really loved how it turned out!
